West Roxbury and Norwood, MA Wedding {Erika and Jose}

Something magical started happening last year and has been really abundant with my wedding clients this year and I'm almost nervous to jinx it by writing about it here but I just have to share. I have been contacted by the most amazing people to photograph their weddings in a much more intimate sense. While most of my weddings average around eight hour of coverage, starting in the morning and ending after dinner, I've now photographed six weddings in just one to four hours. And while I was at first scared of missing the getting ready moments and little details, I have found instead that I have had the most amazing time with these couples, focusing mainly on the bride and groom to capture their love and those amazing wedding day smiles and intimate moments. In a shorter time frame, I am often gifted {yes, gifted} a full hour or more with just the couple. I wish I could express in words how incredibly amazing having a full hour is on a wedding day. For Erika and Jose, I first met up with them to photograph their ceremony at Saint John Chrysosotom Parish in West Roxbury as well as portraits with their immediate family members and religious sponsors and then scooped them up to a pretty amazing hidden gem in West Roxbury, a lone fishing pier. I have driven by this pier several times and have been dreaming of photographing a couple there so when Erika and Jose told me the location of their church {just 1/2 mile down the road} I recommended that we go there. For a full hour, the couple laughed and danced and walked around and I was able to capture so much pure love. I finished the day at their dinner at BonCaldo Restaurant in Norwood, MA to grab some shots with their closest friends and family, and of course some of their rings on various fun props that were meaningful to the couple. These two were an absolute blessing to work with, always smiling, so kind, so genuine and so in love. I cannot wait for you to see all of these beautiful photographs of these two amazing people, now husband and wife.

Boston, MA Wedding at City Hall {Lee + Pat}

Lee and Pat got married last weekend at Boston City Hall and I feel so honored that I was able to be a part of their big day. They were looking for something very simple and low-key, so I met them {along with many loving family members and friends} outside Boston City Hall to photograph them after their service and stayed for some family portraits.  A wedding day should be all about what the bride and groom are looking for and that doesn't necessarily mean a big 8 or 10 hour photography session. For them it was all about getting the key people surrounding them that day so that's exactly what we did!

I met Lee right after graduating from yoga teacher training in 2011. She was actually the first person to hire me to teach yoga at Beacon Hill Athletic Clubs, at the Brighton location she managed. I taught at her location for two years because it was an amazing community to be a part of. Lee introduced me to her sister, Alex, by purchasing her a surprise engagement shoot! I then photographed Alex and Nick's beautiful Maine wedding last year. It's incredible to be a part of a family for more than one wedding. {Jay, wink, wink, you're next.}

Take a look at some of the portraits we captured last weekend!

A huge shout out to all of the vendors who made the day such a success!

I absolutely loved photographing Gabrielle and Cesar's wedding day. Their love was palpable. Their smiles were infectious. I couldn't help but laugh along with their playfulness when posing and smile at their cute quick kisses between their family portraits. Even though temperatures were at historic lows, Gabrielle and Cesar were up for a few minutes outside and I am so glad because we were able to capture the historic South Boston charm on a nearby apartment entryway. Toro was the perfect venue for the rest of the photographs. We utilized their beautiful exposed brick walls, DIY chalkboards and Spanish inspiration.

Gabrielle and Cesar, I wish you so much happiness! Thank you for having me photograph your wedding.
