Three Years Full Time!

Boston Yoga Photographer

I have to admit, things have been running business as usual around here for so long that it took a Facebook memory status this morning to remind me that today marks THREE FULL YEARS running Tracy Rodriguez Photography full time!

I started shooting in 2000, went to yoga teacher training in 2011 - which changed my life (career perspective, life goals, general outlook) - and I started shooting yoga photography directly following. I added on wedding photography in 2013 and then in early 2014, I left my corporate marketing job to run this business with all of my might.

I have loved every second of it, yes, even the grueling number crunching and tedious tasks, because they all add up to me being able to pursue this passion of mine full time.

I am so grateful to all of you, my clients, my fans and followers, my supporters. Please know that I think of you daily and appreciate everything you give. So, from my heart, know I love you. And I thank you.

And if you're in that place, looking to find a way to make your passion your career, know that you can do it. I promise. You have everything it takes. Feel free to comment below for some inspiration or message me any time. I've got your back.

Here's to another year at Tracy Rodriguez Photography!

Namaste.

Tracy

PS - Hey fellow business owners! How do you celebrate your successes? I'll be honest, I typically don't. I may mention something to my husband, mom or sister on the phone. I definitely smile ear to ear. Perhaps I do a little blog shout out here and there. But, in a work from home, one woman show, it's hard to have, say, a team dinner celebration. So what do you do? I'd love to know!

Dedham, MA Yoga Photo Shoot at MIT Endicott House {w/ Ciara Clark}

Looking at the forecast for my yoga photo shoot with Ciara Clark earlier this week left me with my jaw dropped! I just couldn't believe that we could be so lucky as to be shooting in late October in the near 80's! To have all of this warmth with the perfect mix of beautiful fall foliage was almost too good to be true.

Ciara and I shot at the beautiful MIT Endicott House in Dedham, MA, capturing tons of outdoor beauty in all of its unique spaces. We shot a variety of poses from super challenging arm balances {shout out to ashtavakrasana - eight angle pose - that balance is something fierce!} to warriors and standing balances to simple seated meditative poses. Ciara rocked them all with beauty and grace and I now can't wait to share some previews with you.

Ciara currently teaches at Acorn Yoga in Brighton and Gold's Gym in South Boston. She also teaches special events and classes at MoveWith.com and at the Hands to Heart Center, a local non-profit organization that provides free yoga classes for people living with poverty and trauma in Boston.

Make sure to give her page a like on Facebook and follow her on Instagram to learn more about her and her classes and to see more images from our photo shoot!

Haverhill, MA Yoga Photo Shoot - Teacher Mini Sessions {w/ The Yoga Tree}

Back in May, I had the pleasure of photographing The Yoga Tree in Haverhill, MA for the very first time. We booked a full day session, photographing everything from the studio itself to a Vinyasa class and a Restorative class to teacher mini sessions, and we even captured some photography of the lovely owner, Caroline Pineau, with her husband and two dogs. If you missed it, you can check it out here: The Yoga Tree on the blog!

Well, at the end of the session {before seeing even one photograph!} Caroline asked me if we could go ahead and book a follow-up of minis in the fall. It felt like forever away at the time and now I'm not sure where the summer went, but we held our sessions earlier this month at Winnekenni Park in Haverhill on the most gorgeous fall day, and I have to say they were just as much fun as our first shoot together. A huge thanks to Caroline, Checka, Shauna, Sami, Sarah, Julia, Shannon, and of course, Shannon's adorable little Elsa!

Make sure to give The Yoga Tree a like on Facebook to see more photographs from the day along with information on their classes, workshops, and events. This is definitely a community you'll love being a part of! Thanks for having me, Yoga Tree tribe!
