Brookline, MA Yoga Photo Shoot at Larz Anderson Park {w/ Fran Karoff}

It's hard to believe that I'm wrapping up this summer's season of yoga photo shoots while the sun is still shining and the weather is warm {okay, for this shoot, hot!}. But alas my 8-month pregnant body is telling me to slow down. So with that, I have just a couple of sessions left to share with you all before my maternity leave. And this one I am thrilled to be sharing today.

I met with Fran at the beautiful Larz Anderson Park in Brookline, MA. And unlike the last time I tried to shoot there, this time, we weren't caught in torrential rains with a lightening and thunderstorm to boot! This time, it was perfect. The overcast skies provided for beautiful light and the texture of the stone structures and the beautiful green grass and trees made for a photographer's dream.

I absolutely loved photographing Fran. She has such a calming and nurturing energy about her that is so lovely to photograph. We captured many accessible poses to demonstrate her style of teaching and of course photographed a beautiful gifted bracelet with a phrase she often says in class, "pause for a moment of gratitude." How much do you love that?

Fran currently teaches at the First Congregational Church in Milton. You can learn more about her on her website and Facebook.

Newton, MA Yoga Photo Shoot {w/ Christyn Schroeder}

I first met Christyn several years ago at a children's charity event, Yoga Reaches Out's Kids Yogathon. I photographed the event and was absolutely blown away by Christyn's beautiful energy and ability to connect with literally 100's of children. "Hello, Sun! Hello, Earth!" I'll always remember. You can't not smile while watching her teach.

So when Christyn contacted me to set up a yoga photo shoot, I was ecstatic. Again, her beautiful energy was palpable, she smiled effortlessly and we definitely shared some really fun laughs. I could not be more excited to share a handful of previews with you today.

Christyn teaches both adult and children's yoga classes. She founded KidPowerment Yoga in 2007, which brings yoga to more than, 1,500 kids a week in the greater Boston area. Christyn’s creative classes encourage students to embody their innately curious nature, leading to a more authentic understanding of themselves and the impact they hope to make on the world.

You can find Christyn teaching both adult and children's yoga classes at Bow Street Yoga, North End Yoga, CreateKarma.todayUniversity Club, Kingsley Montessori and Bright Horizons.

Boston, MA Yoga Photo Shoot at the Arnold Arboretum {w/ Anna Platnikova}

If I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times, I absolutely love shooting at The Arnold Arboretum. I just love that no matter when you go, there is something new and something lovely and something unique to fit with my lovely and unique clients. And this yoga photo shoot with Anna Platnikova was no exception. The only exception here was that Anna was referred to me by none other than my adoring husband! And I have to say, while he's enjoyed a handful of yoga classes {thank you, Chanel Luck and Nina Petruzzo} and used to attend my classes when I was first teaching, this is the first time a yoga teacher has reached out to me as a referral so kudos to him! {And you should have seen the smile on his face when I told him!}

Photographing with Anna was an absolute dream. She is completely stunning, incredibly kind, and has the best smile. And, as all of my clients know, if you laugh at my dorky jokes, you're golden in my book. Towards the end of our session, Anna put on the most radiant blush dress and white floral crown and I swear my jaw dropped. Shooting yoga poses in unique outfits to fit your brand {ahem, shout out to my marketing major} is something I absolutely love. It helps distinguish yourself and shows your character and I am all for it. Needless to say, I could not be more excited to share a few previews from our yoga photo shoot.

You can find Anna teaching Health Yoga Life in Boston and can learn more about her by following her on Instagram. Enjoy!

Haverhill, MA Yoga Photo Shoot - Teacher Mini Sessions {w/ The Yoga Tree}

Back in May, I had the pleasure of photographing The Yoga Tree in Haverhill, MA for the very first time. We booked a full day session, photographing everything from the studio itself to a Vinyasa class and a Restorative class to teacher mini sessions, and we even captured some photography of the lovely owner, Caroline Pineau, with her husband and two dogs. If you missed it, you can check it out here: The Yoga Tree on the blog!

Well, at the end of the session {before seeing even one photograph!} Caroline asked me if we could go ahead and book a follow-up of minis in the fall. It felt like forever away at the time and now I'm not sure where the summer went, but we held our sessions earlier this month at Winnekenni Park in Haverhill on the most gorgeous fall day, and I have to say they were just as much fun as our first shoot together. A huge thanks to Caroline, Checka, Shauna, Sami, Sarah, Julia, Shannon, and of course, Shannon's adorable little Elsa!

Make sure to give The Yoga Tree a like on Facebook to see more photographs from the day along with information on their classes, workshops, and events. This is definitely a community you'll love being a part of! Thanks for having me, Yoga Tree tribe!
